Robert E. Sox
You know, it’s said that if you can do what you love to do and make a living at it, you’re a very lucky man. Well, consider Robert E. Sox blessed.
Born Robert Stephen Legault in Toronto, Ontario Canada. He enjoyed a life of entertainment, first as a drummer, where he picked the nickname “Bo”, then as a talent agent and finally embarking on a career as a DJ. This was in and
around the greater Toronto area, the “GTA” where a good friend already in the broadcasting industry suggested Robert give it a try. After a string of small stations in British Columbia, Manitoba and in Ontario.
Robert hooked up with “Nightlife Productions” in Mississauga, Ontario and the WRNR Radio Road Show which is an oldies show similar to the Rock and Roll Bandstand that he hosts today. That when he became “Robert E. Sox or Bobby
Sox,” as it translates. WRNR Radio Show was a successful show for many years in combination with his co-host “KJ,” playing solid gold hits!
Robert is now retired and living in a beach house on the coast of the pacific ocean, in the sleepy little fishing and tourist town of Playas, Ecuador but, thanks to the encouragement of his good friend, Walter Scott James, he is
the host of the “Old School Dance of Rockin’ Country Fame.”
As they say, Robert E. Sox is back on the air with a brand new show called RNR Bandstand, produced by Walter Scott James, playing great music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Robert debuted his new show in May, 2021, shows no sign of slowing down and continues to produce an informative and great weekly music show!
